The Battle of San Jacinto

June 23rd, 2017

I decided to hit up one of my best friends, Robert, to come hang out with me on my first official day back in the best state in the union, the wonderful Republic of Texas.

We decided to go eat some Russian food, because I was having serious withdrawal issues on my Russian Cuisine, and we went to the Eastern European market. Alas, it was only a market, and food is only on advance order only. I was very excited for my grecha with potatoes and meat. I started talking in Russian with the owners, leaving my friend Robert clueless, and we ended up eating a honey cake that was very delicious.

Afterwards, we drove all the way down to baytown, to go see the famous site of the last battle of the Texas Revolution, San Jacinto. There is the largest obelisk in the world, towering over even the Washington memorial, because everything is bigger in Texas.

Inside the obelisk is a quick history of Texas, which in itself was interesting, as well as an elevator up to the observation deck. Not much to see really, but loads of fun to just spend it with my friend.
