The day has finally come. I am on the way back to my home state of Texas. I will miss my family down in Florida, but I am more crazy about going to see my friends and family back in Houston.
I drove from my grandma's house in Miami, all the way to the Ft. Lauderdale Airport. I had to take several back roads, because driving on the main roads in Florida can be quite dangerous. (Darn the old people who are way too old to be legally driving!)
I got a bit lost at the airport, because it was my first pick up ever, but I was so glad that I managed to finally see my mom and brother, who had just gotten off the plane on a return flight from Cuba. From there, my mom decided to start the drive, and we headed off, leaving the airport behind us. My brother was dead asleep from the flight, but boy is he adorable.
We stopped for some food, but couldn't find anything appealing, and ended up getting some really bad chinese food that didn't sit well in our stomach. We drove through Florida, getting caught in the rain occasionally, and then the tropical storm really hit, but we managed to arrive to our hotel in Pensacola luckily.
We spent the night in Pensacola in a shared bed, because my mother was terrified my brother would somehow crawl out of the bed. I just gotta say, I could barely sleep. That little bug can move. No wonder I call him the Cheeki Breeki (Look up the video for reference.)

After getting some breakfast with my mom and brother, and checking the weather ahead of us, we headed off to Houston. Getting out of Florida is a hassle because of the low speed highways, and the fact that the cops there love to give out speeding fines.
We passed through Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and finally Texas. Several of the former states were completely flooded, causing traffic to occur as we tried to make our way through the states. What horror.
This part of the road trip, my mother and I were already getting irritated, and my brothers screams did not help with the running fuse. I chose to fall asleep to not pay attention to my mother, but once we entered Texas, I was more than ready to shower and brush my teeth and head to bed.
Upon returning to Texas, I finally got to meet my little niece, who is just adorable. She didn't like me much, but I can't blame her. She doesn't know her big scary uncle!
