Being awoken by the sound of a cat meowing loudly outside wasn't fun, but the day sure was. Guzel and I went to Suvar Plaza, where her gym is located, and one of the places from which I could withdraw cash.
I went to the Millenium Park and Parish of the Holy Cross, which is a Catholic Church on my way to Bauman. I reached Bauman, tried to go up the Bell Tower, but they were closed for lunch. What a disappointment.
Departing from there, I headed towards the Kremlin, but instead of going inside, I went to the museum of Tatarstan, located just across the street from it. From the old villages, to the Golden Horde, to the final days of the Russian Empire, this museum contains it all, including jewelry, weapons, armor, and other former belongings of the Bolgar Tatars.
Involved in this day, was my search for the Tolstoy museum, which was not found, due to it being a temporary exhibition.
I went to the Peter and Paul Cathedral after eating a very Tatar lunch with Guzel. It was delicious, and meat was involved in every dish, including the salad. After Lunch, I returned to the Kremlin, inquired about an expedition to the Raifa Monastery and Sviyazhsk, and got a placement to go there on the bus.
I took a detour on the return to the apartment on Karl Marx street, where I ran into a hobo, who harrassed me for not giving them money. My response? I'm only a Student. I have no money.
I took in the beautiful architecture, and made it to the apartment, where I rested before dinner.
We went to the Lafa Cafe and Lounge for dinner with Guzel's Sister Leysan and her Husband Anton, as well as her cousin and her cousin's husband. I ordered Hachapuri as an appetizer, and followed by horse steak. Yes, that's right, Horse. And it was delicious.
The music at the place was obnoxiously loude, so it was difficult to hear anything, and in my case, impeded my ability to even conversate in Russian. I just hate loud music when trying to talk to someone.
My adventures in Russia and the surrounding areas for the year. (The music can be paused at the bottom of the page. And the blog archive is right below this, so read everything!)
